7. No Hoarding Allowed

Although our problems are many and many people are hurting and in some form of financial crisis, not everyone is broke. America is a richly blessed nation and lots of its citizens still have lots of stuff and things and resources and, yes, money. When times get tough it can be a knee-jerk reaction to hold on to yours and not worry about how others are getting by. When some of your investments dwindle and your stock portfolio isn't quite the bulging success it's long been, we can quickly go into a fear-driven panic and hoard the rest of what we have for fear it all may disappear. Living in fear is a stifling, unproductive, insensitive place to be. This is the time we need to step up and reach out and help those who we can in big ways or small. If you have to wonder how you can help, than you haven't been paying attention to the world around you. A day doesn't go by when something or someone doesn't present itself that's in need and may have your name written on that need. Don't hold onto your stash like Scrooge. Support small business owners whenever possible. Help a local charity doing good works. Go through your house and find things you're not using or could live without and give them to people who can use them. Give a guy a couple of bucks holding that cardboard sign and don't judge what he does with the money. It's time to be generous and share. You have something to give, I know you do. Every gesture, gift, contribution, and act of kindness does matter.

8. Creativity, Ingenuity, Productivity

These are words that used to describe us. They are words that still can. There's a Mark Burnett show 'Shark Tank' where ambitious, inventive, hopeful entrepreneurs present ideas to five wealthy, potential investors 'Sharks' to make their dreams into a reality. It shows how creative and industrious we still are. It shows how America can invent and produce and hasn't lost its desire to go after a piece of the pie. Our job force is changing. Some jobs and entire industries are vanishing forever. We can and must create new industries and new jobs and new opportunities where, once again, we can be the shining star throughout the rest of the world. Don't be discouraged or deterred. Don't give up—don't ever give up. There's still time.

stressed at work says...

These days I always feel stressed at work and it seems to be spilling out into my home life. Is there a way I can stop doing that?

spike says...

it has been my experience that, not matter where the stress is it spills over to the other areas. I first find the root of the stress/problem, then research how others fix the emotional side. Remember exercise regularly, this is a MUST. Good luck

First, identify exactly what is triggering your reaction we call stress. Tackle those problems 1 @ a time & don't lump them 2together. Come up with solutions that might mean making tough choices. When the stressful impulse strikes @ home do anything 2 interrupt it. Don't entertain it for a second.~
