The Stress Mess
We've Gotten Ourselves in One Hell of a Pickle
Original Publication Date:

4. Finding our way back to Kennedy's rallying cry
It might have happened in 1961, but the 13 minute 59 second inaugural address given by the 43 year-old 35th president of the U.S. is just as relevant today and it was then. The now famous quote, 'Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country,' says exactly what each of us should be asking of ourselves in 2009. How far off course have we gone since this masterpiece speech? Imagine if this philosophy caught on and became a movement and we rose up from our broken and dejected status to embrace it and carry it forward—ever forward. Interested in inspiring history?
5. The World is Watching
Doesn't America realize the world has their eye on us? Well, they do. Countries and continents, cities and hamlets, regions and strips from Columbia to Gaza have an interest in America and our destination. What we do impacts what they do. What direction we take effects what direction they take. Do we even care? We should be smack dab in the middle of doing great, all manner of things for our country and for our people. We should be able to say to the rest of the world, "Hey everybody, look at us, look at what we accomplished." We should be able to turn to each other and say, "Good job."
6. Expect to fail or Expect to Succeed
Not long ago during the election campaign and the subsequent Obama victory, there seemed to be a wave of optimism in the air. Regardless of your political stance, that was a welcomed feeling. It didn't last. There is a pervasive wave of an "expectation of failure" that is gaining momentum. One thing is certain. If we expect the country to remain on this current course of failure, it will continue to fail. That's because our collective consciousness will be one of failure and everything we do will be in that mode of thought and regard. How can light shine through in the midst of darkness? We can only succeed if we expect to succeed. We can only flourish if we decide to flourish. We can only get on the other side of this mess if we choose to. Frankly, I don't care about the politics of it all. Unfortunately, when you're trying to discuss the state of our nation, its citizens, and the world, you're going to drift slightly into political waters. That is not my intention. My goal is to get you, the reader, to think on a more evolved scale and not limited to a conventional way of examining issues. If the country fails, that means we fail along with it. That means We the people fail. That means America along with Americans fail. If we don't want to slide any further down that slippery slope, we've got to dig our heels in and force the tide to turn in another more positive and uplifting direction.

it has been my experience that, not matter where the stress is it spills over to the other areas. I first find the root of the stress/problem, then research how others fix the emotional side. Remember exercise regularly, this is a MUST. Good luck

First, identify exactly what is triggering your reaction we call stress. Tackle those problems 1 @ a time & don't lump them 2together. Come up with solutions that might mean making tough choices. When the stressful impulse strikes @ home do anything 2 interrupt it. Don't entertain it for a second.~
