4. Planning and Preparation on Purpose
Yes, you've heard it time and again, but it is imperative you get the importance of how preparation fits into every move you make. Preparation comes in many forms that add up to a booming career. I'll admit I go a little crazy in the prep and plan department because I've found you can never be too prepared. Preparation also includes learning and constantly accumulating knowledge. Knowledge has power and successful people are drawn to drinking from the fountain of knowledge to nurture and sustain them. There's no magic bullet when it comes to success. Life happens, and you have to ready yourself for it when it happens in your favor. When an opportunity presents itself, it will be your steadfast planning and preparation that take you to the next level. You must do this with purpose on purpose. Your purposeful attention goes to the heart of your planned intention. Success springs from this preparation and purpose. Failure doesn't have anywhere to thrive in this prepared environment.
5. Push and Be Proactive
To push is a critical part of achieving your goals. Push means to apply pressure to the situation to enact a response. The first place to start with the push is with you. Be proactive. You must get a mindset that keeps you in a forward thinking mode. That's how momentum works. Anytime you have momentum on your side you are obligated to use it. It's easy to become complacent, even depressed over a lack of progress, and lose your momentum entirely. When momentum goes away you're done. That's the time when most people quit. But quitters quit and fighters fight. They also push. Don't be afraid to ask for what you need. Don't be afraid to reach out to those who can help. You must ask for their help. You must go after what you want. You must push. That doesn't mean being pushy. Pushy can be obnoxious and annoying. There is a distinction here. To push is an assertive attitude though which you view the task before you. It is a forceful firmness you apply to your goals and your life that keep you advancing forward. Goals aren't met by inaction. Success doesn't happen if there isn't relentless, proactive pursuit behind it.
6. Practice What You Preach
Credibility is a trait common among successful people. They mean what they say and practice it themselves. Successful people finish what they start. Whether it's difficult or no longer fun, they aren't looking for an easy way but the best way. They never blame others for their failures and they create not procrastinate. People who achieve a level of success share qualities and act with principles that others don't. That's what separates the winners from the rest. If you're struggling with making your goals materialize and your dreams take real shape take a look at the letter P list and consider all the possibilities. Apply the principles. Become who you're designed to become. Achieve what you're intended to achieve. Learn to follow the P to a T perfectly.
