9. Don't stay for the wrong reasons
It's never easy or fun to realize that a relationship isn't working. It's hard to end a partnership with someone that at one point you loved and who held so much promise and hope for the future. If you know in your heart that it's over, then don't continue to hang on. There will never be the perfect scenario to end it. One of both of you may be inconvenienced for a period, but it's worth it to move on now rather than waste more valuable time living on a dead-end street.
10. Sometimes, we're just fooled
There are times when no matter how hard we try or how much we trust or how closely we look, someone will suck us in, and we'll be fooled. If that happens, don't blame yourself for being taken in. If that happens, don't get jaded and become hardened and skeptical and suspicious of everyone. If that happens, look for the lessons and take them with you. I promise what you learn from these low points in your life will eventually come in handy. And when they do, you'll actually be grateful for the knowing—the knowing that the pain from the past serves a real and true purpose.
Right now Sally is still caught up in the deception and disbelief. Right now she can't see too far down the road and is trying to get her bearings. She has a lot of challenges ahead. If I know Sally, she'll rise to meet them. The day will come when she'll be able to view Harry and his memory with the appropriate understanding. Maybe she'll conclude she was right. Maybe she didn't really know him after all. Who is the person sleeping next to you? Hopefully, not a stranger.
