Never Shy Away from Therapy
From Page 61:
First, be careful of charlatans and hoaxers who can prey upon you when you are at your weakest and lowest point. The internet is full of sites where 'experts' will gladly take your money in exchange for their help. Not that there aren't some honorable folks doing good work. Do your research before seeking help online.
Here are some specific things you can do if you need help:
- Reach out and ask.
- Hotlines are in the phone book— both local and national numbers. They are available 24-hours a day. Use them if you are in crisis.
- People of faith have access to leaders who will steer you in the right direction—don't be afraid or ashamed to approach them.
- Counseling services come in all forms: Some are free, some are sliding scale, some are expensive. Depending on your resources decide what services meet your individual needs. These are listed and easily found in the Yellow Pages.
- Ask members of the CLUB who are having success what has worked for them.
